Winter Blues

A quiet weekend for the yard with no runners. The weather is getting to everyone as it has been the coldest winter in 31 years. However this week is expected to be dry and a little milder, although still below the seasonal averages, the nights are drawing out and Spring is just around the corner. We have lots to look forward to for the new season as we have had some high quality recruits to the yard over the winter. Our highest rated horses last year were Sweet Gale and Rock Anthem, both reaching a BHA rating of 75. However, 3 of our new recruits are more highly rated with Chapter and Verse (85), Benandonner (92) and Servoca (93) and we hope to have a lot of fun and, all going to plan, a lot of success. Although all three of these horses are winners we have two recruits who are not. La Fortunata (72) and Jolly Cooper (45) we have mentioned below and getting both of these into the winner's spot would be just as gratifying. We have 12 horses in full work at present and we believe we can get a win out of all of them. That's the greatest thing about Horseracing and this time of the year -Optimism
