YOUNG JOHN WINS AGAIN - this time at Newcastle

Young John made it two consecutive wins in 9 days with another demolition of the opposition in a 6f apprentice race on Wednesday evening. It was a race for apprentices with 10 or less winners and so the pool of talent to choose from was reduced. However, it was the Ian Williams connection again which came to the fore as Luke Catton is a colleague, and good friend, of Charlie Todd the amateur rider who won on him the previous week. Luke was quick off the mark to ring for the ride and to visit the yard to ride the horse. Despite only having ridden one previous winner Luke looked a competent rider and we were happy to give hin the ride. He followed our instructions and Young John again asserted in the race and once again won comfortably.

YOUNG JOHN - WINS at Leicester

Young John destroyed the opposition at Leicester in the Amateur riders' race on the 29th October. He chased the leaders from the start but once his jockey, Charlie Todd, pulled him out he scooted clear and the result was never in doubt.
Amateur Riders' races have jockeys with a wide range of abilities and we were pleased with the efforts of our jockey who was very professional. He works for Ian Williams and has experience in the Point to Point field and was worth his 5lb claim.
This was a real confidence booster for YJ who had been knocking on the door this year having been disappointing for us.
