GARTH ROCKETT WINS again at Lingfield

Garth Rockett recorded the 8th win of his career at Lingfield Park yesterday. The win was also his 5th win at the track and he clearly loves the place. He was given a very good ride by his jockey, Daniel Muscutt, who was able to give him the shortest trip round on the running rail. He made his move at the 2f pole and was able to slingshot the bend and had a clear run up the straight and galvanised Garth who has a real willingness to win.
We are thrilled for his Owner and Breeder, Phil Banfield, who was not able to make the race, and for all of his many followers.

ROCKETEER WINS at Wolverhampton

Rocketeer broke his maiden tag with a gutsy win at Wolverhampton yesterday evening. The win was a direct result of the horse jumping well from his wide draw in stall 10 and the good ride given by his jockey, Daniel Muscutt. Having broken well from the stalls Danny pushed forward to hold a prominent position at the head of the field. Turning for home he asked Rocketeer for an efoort and he galloped strongly to the line to win by 3/4 of a length.
The horse is bred and owned by our vet, Susanna Ballinger, and we are delighted to get her a winner. The horse has progressed, both mentally and physially, with each race and we hope he can continue on his upward trajectory.

ROCKETEER 2nd at Lingfield

Rocketeer ran a fine race in defeat at Lingfield on Saturday in the three-year-old Novice race. Sent about his business from the start of the 5 furlong race by his Jockey, Daniel Muscutt, Rocketeer was a bit green but quickly was in the leading pair. He saw off all of his rivals bar the eventual winner but we were very pleased with his effort.

GARTH ROCKETT WINS at Lingfield

Garth Rockett once again put his best foot forward and recorded the seventh win of his career at Lingfield yesterday. Given a fine ride by jockey, Daniel Muscutt, he stayed close to the pace and when turning for home set about Garth who responded gamely to win the race by a length and a half.
Yesterday was his first win at 6 furlongs as all of his previous winners and been over a trip which was a furlong longer. However, Garth and been showing a lot of speed at home and we felt it was worth dropping him back in trip once again which duly paid dividends.
We are delighted for his owner, Phil Banfield, who although not able to be there was able to watch the race live. The Rockett is a real trier and takes a fair old grip on the gallops but we love having him in the yard.

VELVET VISION 2nd at Southwell

Velvet Vision ran another outstanding race at Southwell on Thursday. She was a little unlucky as the pace horse in the race, Bond Angel, was withdrawn at the start and so there was not as much pace in the race as we would've liked. However, Daniel Muscutt went forward on our filly and tried his best to snatch the race but she was beaten by a much better handicapped horse on the day.
We were once again thrilled with her run although mildly disappointed that she wasn't able to fulfil the three timer. She didn't lose anything in defeat and we will see how she comes out of the race. Hopefully she can continue her upwards trajectory as she is a fine filly and a pleasure to have in the yard.

VELVET VISION WINS AGAIN

Velvet Vision recorded her second victory for the yard at Chelmsford yesterday. She jumped quite well from the stalls and her jockey, Daniel Muscutt, had her in a good position in the middle of the pack. She travelled well and when turning for home was able to run the leaders down and get ahead in front in the final furlong.
We are all absolutely delighted with the filly. She has a great temperament and a will to win and is also a fine looking specimen.
Velvet Vision can be a little keen at home but my assistant, Michael Keady, has done a great job in getting her to settle.
We have been out to Tesco to get some Krispy Kreme doughnuts which the lads are celebrating with this morning!

MULZIM WINS AGAIN at Southwell

Mulzim returned to Southwell yesterday just 8 days after his victory over course and distance and won again. He was once again given a positive ride by his jockey, Daniel Muscutt, who had him up with the pace from the start. He showed a good attitude to see off all of his opponents especially in the final furlong.
It has been a very frustrating 2 1/2 years with Mulzim who is fragile but we are delighted to see him get his head in front on two occasions this year. Credit must go to our vets and farriers who have kept him together over this period. We will take it one race at time with him due to his issues.

MULZIM WINS at Southwell

Mulzim ran out a ready winner of the 5 fur. handicap at Southwell last night. He had had a couple of prep runs there and he handled the surface very well. He was a bit unlucky last time as he was bumped at the start and this did not help him. However, last night everything went to plan under a good ride by his jockey, Danny Muscutt, who jumped and had him rolling from the off. He stayed on gamely all the way to the light to see Off his rivals.

VELVET VISION WINS at Southwell

Velvet Vision, running her first race for the yard, won at Southwell on Sunday. She was a little slow away from the stalls despite the work the lads had done at home with her. However, she soon joined the main pack and travelled well under a good ride from Danny Muscutt. Turning for home she took a little while to pick up but once she did she battled gamely to get her head in front in the final furlong and she kept it there winning by a neck.
We are all thoroughly delighted for the owner Richard Marriott and his family whose horses running under the Sarabex banner. They have a beautiful filly who is lucky to be alive having had a fractured skull as a youngster. Rossdales, the Newmarket vets, did a great job and have a page on their website which tells the whole story.
Velvet Vision came out of the race well and we look forward to having a successful campaign with her.

GARTH ROCKETT - WINS at Lingfield

Garth Rockett followed up his win earlier in the month at Chelmsford with a win at Lingfield yesterday. It was a tougher race than the one he won at Chelmsford but he was given a good ride by Shane Kelly. From a wider than ideal draw Shane was able to go forward and sit mid division before beginning to close on the leaders and then send Garth for home at the 2f pole. Garth tenaciously stuck to his task and won by three quarters of a length.
His owner, Phil Banfield had been waiting for his 100th winner for over a year and then his 101st winner came 3 weeks later!

GARTH ROCKETT- WINS at Chelmsford City

Garth Rockett finally got his head in front this year with a game perfomance at Chelmsford on the 1st November. Luke Morris gave him a fine ride by tracking the leaders and then challenging a furlong out with Garth finding plenty for pressure.
The win marked his owner's 100th winner as an owner and it had been 366 days since his last winner which was also Garth Rockett.

YOUNG JOHN -WINS at Southwell

On the 21st October Young John won at Southwell showing great tenacity having been headed in the final furlong. YJ had been in good form heading into the race and the key question was whether he would handle the surface. However,he had been tried on the surface by his previous trainer back in late 2016/early 2017 and we were not worried.
He jumped well and was with the leader before taking it up turning for home. Although he was headed inside the final furlong, and looked beaten, he battled back gamely to get up close to the finishing line.

DESERT FOX-2nd at Chelmsford

Another good performance by Desert Fox at Chelmsford last night was thwarted by the exceptionally well handicapped winner. Desert Fox jumped and travelled well in the race towards the rear and had every chance of winning when turning for home. He managed to get a run through despite a slightly troubled passage but the winner had flown and was not for catching.

GARTH ROCKETT - 2nd at Kempton

Garth Rockett was unlucky in his quest to give his owner, Phil Banfield, his 100th winner. Held up in a race where there was a good pace he made good progress in the final 2f only to find the leader had set good fractions and couldn't be caught. However, we were very pleased with Garth as he showed a good attitude and bounced back from a below par effort 9 days earlier at Leicester.

YOUNG JOHN - 2nd at Pontefract

Young John ran a fine race in defeat at Pontefract last week. The race was run at a good pace on ground with give in it and both of these factors helped the horse. He came with a good run turning for home and was very game but found the winner too good for him.
He was due to race at Salisbury yesterday but the meeting was abandoned and we will look for other opportunities on easy ground for him.

YOUNG JOHN WINS at Chepstow

Young John relished the give in the ground at Chepstow yesterday and ran out a convincing winner of the 6f race. Some of the credit must go to his Jockey, Rossa Ryan, who found a strip of turf up the far rail which was fresh. Given a positive ride from the off YJ was always in command and the result was never in doubt.
One of his owners, Dennis Cooper was there to see him win. Unfortunately another owner, Alan East, was not able to make it due to illness but it was a big boost to see his horse win.

DESERT FOX WINS at Chelmsford

Desert Fox recorded a 4th victory of his career at Chelmsford yesterday. He has a tremendous record at the course with 4 wins and 3 placed efforts from his 7 runs over the 6f trip. Although getting a bump at the start and being in rear there was plenty of pace in the race which suited our boy. At the 3f mark he was last but he got a good run through on the turn for home and an uninterrupted trip up the straight eventually getting his head in front in the final 100yards.

Danglydontask - 3rd at Chepstow

Danglydontask ran another fine race st Chepstow on the 22nd August. He chased the leaders for most of the race but he couldn't get to them in the final two furlongs. He is such a game horse and gives his rider, and connections, everything but as an 8yo he is vulnerable to younger legs!

KELLINGTON KITTY WINS at Bath

Kellington Kitty broke her maiden tag in emphatic style with a six lengths win at Bath on the 17th of August. Kitty had shown on her previous run at Brighton she was coming back to form and she ran out a clear cut winner.
Kitty is the sweetest horse at home and we have always felt she was better than her mark. However, things have not gone right for her on the track and it has taken a while for her to build her confidence. This win should have done her the world of good and we hope she can go on to further success.

A Place To Dream - 2nd at Bath

A Place To Dream came agonisingly close to breaking his maiden on only his second run when 2nd at Bath on the 17th August. It looked a very weak maiden and we knew we had a horse with enough abilty to win the race. However, it was only the second run of his career and the horse took a while to get into top gear. He was a little green and the leader pulled out a little more in the final furlong.
We were thrilled with his effort and hopefully he will turn into a nice horse.
