Katie's debut race

Katie The Hatter runs her first race in a maiden today at Lingfield, in the 3.20 race. She is out of Kathleen's Dream, hence the Katie in her name and is owned by a big Luton Town supporter, hence the second part of her name. Mel Bass, the owner, has been very patient as he understands what it can take to get animals to the track having been a top breeder, owner and trainer of greyhounds.
We bought Katie as a yearling at the Doncaster Bloodstock Sales over two years ago and we have had to be patient as she has done more growing than we had originally expected. However, she is a very nice prospect and we think she will gove a good account of herself. However, it is her first race so hopefully she will learn a great deal today.
We are delighted to have Jim Crowley on board as he is a first class horseman, and jockey, who will both educate and look after the filly for us.
Whatever she does today we believe she will be better as a 4yo.
