LILY ASH WINS at Beverley
Lily Ash recorded the 2nd win of her career with a gutsy performance at Beverley on Wednesday under a drive from Ger O'Neill. It was an Apprentice Classified Stakes for horses rated up to 55. Lily Ash was on that mark and we chose the most experienced jockey of those apprentices eligible to ride. Ger had ridden 5 winners at the tracl which was more than the combined figure of the other riders in the race. Although a bit further back than ideal she showed battling qualities up the stiff straight at the track and got up in the final half furlong.
