Rock Anthem - A shambles
Rock Anthem raced without his jockey this evening and the episode can only be described as a shambles. The horse put his head down in the stalls on two occasions and on the second occasion the gates opened and the jockey, with no reigns, had no option but to bail out. The gates opened and the horse ran without his jock!
Rock Anthem will now face a stalls test for being unruly. However, it is clear the stalls handlers behind the stalls were running across to help Martyn Dwyer before the stalls opened. So why did the starter not wait to press the button?? Was there a call. Was it late in the evening and everyone was keen to get home??
The truth is the horse may face a stalls test which will cost time and money. Was it really unruly behaviour? All he did was put his head down, he did not try to break through the stalls. I have seen far worse in stalls. We're does blame apply? Did the Starter hear a shout and if not how come the stalls handlers ran to help BEFORE the stalls were opened!
As you can imagine we feel both angry and frustrated as blame will be squarely put on the horse who was keen to get on with the job. We believe the horse is not to blame!
