Oratorio 2yo Colt

We have only 1 share left in the Oratorio Colt

Oratorio x Princess of Iona

2YO BAY COLT

We purchased lot 35 at the Kempton Breeze-Up sales and we were very happy to get him at the price of £15,000 (+ 6% Goffs sales commission). He was a bit green in his breeze but when he switched legs in the final 100yds he showed a nice action and attitude and recorded a better than average time.

Click the first video to see his breeze at Kempton

He is by Oratorio who was a three times Group 1 winner. He won a Group 1 ,2 & 3 as a 2 year old over 6 and 7 furlongs and a was Group1 winner at 3 over 10furlongs, winning the Coral Eclipse and Irish Champion Stakes. He was Champion 2 year old in France as well as being the top rated 3 year old in Ireland. He was also 2nd in the Irish 2000gns, Dewhurst and the Waterford Wedgwood Phoenix Stakes, and was 3rd in the St James Palace Stakes, all of which were Group 1's. He won over £1 Million pounds in prize money despite only racing for two seasons!

He is out of Princess of Iona (an unraced daughter of Eurobird, who was the Champion 3year old stayer in Ireland winning the Irish St. Leger). Princess Iona is a sister to 9 winners and the dam side is full of black type winners at both 2 and 3.

This colt looks like he will make up into a very nice 2yo. The photographs show he is a very well made individual with plenty of muscle behind the saddle. The plan is to let him have a few easy days of light canter work to get over the stress of the sales and then we will start his training regime. He is a good stamp of a horse with a kind temperament and could be anything.

There are 8 shares in the horse available at £3,950 each which covers all costs (including vet fees up to £2,000 etc) to the end of October when the plan is to send him to the HIT sales unless, like some of the family, he looks capable of being a champion older horse!

We already have seven people in the partnership, so please give me a ring if you would like to come and see our new boy.

Regards,

Mike

1/8th share £3,950 (or 12 monthly payments of £350)

Red Somerset WINS AGAIN

Red Somerset won his 5th race of this year with a gutsy display at Wolverhampton tonight. Kieran O'Neil gave the horse a first rate ride and was in exactly the right position throughout the race. He bagged the rail from stall 3 and held the horse up behind a decent pace. Once they turned for home Red found overdrive and fortunately the gaps opened up which allowed him to pass the leader in the final half furlong. We were all thrilled for the horse as he tries his best every time.
