CONJURING - WINS at Newmarket

What a thrilling evening Conjuirng gave us on Friday night. It was touch and go as to whether we ran but when Jim Crowley told us the going was soft but not testing we let Trixie take her chance. However, the real plaudits must go to the jockey (Richard Mullen) and the horse as the former tracked Spirited Spring when that horse made for the far rail and also he sent Trixie for home at the 3f pole. Trixie as she is known in the yard responed to the jockey's urgings in determined style and held on all the way to the line to win by a half length.
We were thrilled with her performance in what were awful conditions. The photo shows winning soaked connections in the Winner's Enclosure and they are from left to right: Andrea Scagill, Bill Lemon, James Meunier (her lad), Joel Bailey, Barabara Clarke, Kathy Gunnell and Maria Bailey.

LLYRICAL- WINS AGAIN at Wolverhampton

On 13th July Llyrical followed up his maiden win with a repeat performance at Wolverhampton. The races were virtually identical in nature with Marital giving Llyrical a lead for most of the race only for our horse to collar the long time leader close to the line. Whereas the winning distance was a half length in the first race it was by a diminished margin of a neck in this contest. It is difficult not to feel sorry for Marital but we were pleased to see that horse get his head in front last week.
The photo shows his delighted lad, Stuart Gosnell who does a great job with him at home, in the Winner's Enclosure again.
