LILY ASH - WINS at Great Yarmouth

Lily Ash recorded the 3rd win of her career with a gutsy display at Great Yarmouth yesterday. We were stepping the filly up in trip as she looked as though she needed further despite winning over a mile previously. We knew she would keep battling and so it proved yesterday as she looked beaten in the final furlong but under a strong drive by her jockey, Rossa Ryan, she got up to win by a length. She is a very game filly and although it was only a 0-55 race it gave the whole team a lot of pleasure. If a horse has a willingness to win we can normally find a rece for it but if they do not want to win then it is a very frustrating game for all. We would rather have horse like Lily Ash than the "morning glories" which are good at home but don't have that winning instinct on the track.
The photos  shows delighted connections with from left to right Ann and Pter Graham, Denise Tibbett, Kumbh Singh (Lily's regular rider) and jockey, Rossa Ryan.

YAA MOUS - WINS at Chelmsford City

Yaa Mous ran out a convincing winner of the Filles 10f race at Chelmsford last night. The race went according to plan with Special Mission trying to make all and some 10 lengths clear with 2f to go. However, the plan was always to have Yaa Mous up with the leaders but in her comfort zone and once the leader started to tire it was set up for the horses in behind. Yaa Mous asserted in thr final furlong and this represents a step up on her previous win at Leicester.
The photo shows Yaa Mous being led in by lad, Hugo Meunier, who was substituting for her regular rider, Luke Seal, who has done a great job with the filly.

YOUNG JOHN - 2nd at Leicester

Young John recorded his best run for the yard on Tuesday when 2nd in the 6f race at Leicester. He was a bit slow away from the starting gates but travelled well into the race. He found plenty for the urgings of his jockey, Conor Murtagh, but the winner had got first run on the far side of the track and Young John could not peg him back. Howevere, we were delighte dwith his effort and hopefully he can go on from here.

SUCH PROMISE - 3rd at Catterick

Such Promise recorded his best position to date with a battling run at Catterick on Tuesday. He had a good draw in stall 4 but was not as quick out of the stalls as some of his cometitors and was further back than ideal. However, he was able to make ground in the final 2 furlongs but he ran out of track and was beaten just over a length.
This was a very encouraging performance from Such Promise and we are hopeful he can go two places better as he gains more experince of racing. This was only the 4th run of his career and he has come on for each run.

ZAMPERINI - 3rd at Wolverhampton

Zamperini recorded his first placed position of 2018 with a 3rd placed spot on Friday night at Wolverhampton. Zamperini has not had his ground this year on the turf and so we switched back to the AW and the scene of his maiden win. He travelled well for most of the race and he was travelling best of all some 2f out. His jockey, Nicola Currei, sent him for home and he just got a little tired in the final half furlong and was beaten a length. As the Racing Post stated "He ran a blinder"  and hopefully we can find a race back on turf before the end of the turf season.
The photo shows Zamperini with his jockey, Nicola Currie, and groom, Kumbh Singh.

HAVANA SUNSET - 2nd at Wolverhampton

Havana Sunset ran his best race to date when recording a 2nd placed position at Wolverhampton on Friday night. He was quickly away form the starting stalls and manged to get to the front. From there he used his long stride to stretch the field. However, the well fancied favourite had Havana in his sights and asseted in the final furlong. Despite the disappointment of being 2nd we were pleased with the effort of Havana Sunset and he is a lovely big scopey horse who should progress from here.
The photo shows Havana Sunset with jockey, Nicola Currie, with one of the partners, Dennis Cooper, and his lad, Kumbh Singh, in the 2nd spot position in the Winner's Enclosure.
