LILY ASH - 2nd at RIPON

Lily Ash ran a fine race in defeat at Ripon on Monday. She was deservedly sent off the 3/1 favourite based on her Yarmouth win and went to the track in good form. However, she came up against Vigee Le Brun who had been running well but on this occassion romped to a 6l success. Lily Ash lost nothing in defeat as she battled all the way up the long Ripon straight but the writing was on the wall a long way from home with the winner never looking like he was going to be beaten.
Lily Ash suffered a knock in the race and she will be on the easy list for a week until the swelling recedes.

OVERTRUMPED WINS at NEWMARKET

Overtrumped broke her maiden at Newmarket on Friday night on only her 5th start. The filly has not had her ground recently as she likes cut in the turf given her high knee action. We were thrilled to see all the rain appear on Thursday and Friday which turned the ground to very soft. With the other 5 horses not handling the conditions it was great to see Overtrumped assert in the final furlong to win by over 3 lengths.
It was great for the joint owners, Mario Borgatti and Stuart Moir, who have been great supporters of the yard, as it was their first win at Newmarket.
