Angel Way 2nd at Newmarket

It was a case of deja vu  with our second runner on the day at Newmarket on Saturday! It was another case of taking the initiative and trying to make all in the race only to be gunned down  by a horse which was very well handicapped. However, it was another fine effort in defeat by one of the yard's horses and a 2nd placed effort is no mean feat. Rather like Kakatosi who was second earlier in the card she has been effectively penalised for her consistentcy. As such she is a helpful benchmark for the handicappers when they assess the race but, ironically, it does her no favours as they rarely drop her for one or two below par performances. She has now run 10 times since she last won in August 2013, off a mark of 70, and after Saturday's race she remains on a mark of 74.

Kakatosi 2nd at Newmarket

Kakatosi ran very well on Saturday at Newmarket but was beaten by a very well handicapped Firmdecisions. Tosi jumped well form the stalls and quickly got to the front. He tried to make it all the way to the Finishing Line but the winner had plenty in hand and won by 7 lengths. This was a good performance again by Tosi who has been consistent but gets little respite from the handicapper. However, there ought to be a a race for him to win somewhere if we find the right opportuity.

Starfield 3rd at Chelmsford

Starfield came a gallant 3rd at Chelmsford on 6 May. Normally quickly away, on this occasion Starfield dwelt in the stalls and was not able to achieve his customary leading role. However, despite being towards the rear he made ground up the straight and stayed on to be a very creditable 3rd.
The photo below shows Starfield in the Winners' Enclosure with two of his owners from Dallas Racing, Tom and Alex.

Fujiano WINS at Brighton

Fujiano broke her duck on her first run for the yard running out a convincing winner of the 6f Maiden at Brighton. Ridden by David Provert Fujiano broke well and always had the leaders covered before making her move inside the 2f marker. She quickly put matters to bed and kept on all the way to the line.
The photograph below shows one of the winning owners, John Runeckles, with jockey, David Probert, and her regular lad and groom, James Meunier.
